Alternative ways to percuss Lily

that allow her to "keep it real."

A sweet hint of curl...

This shouldn't come as a surprise to you...have you seen Brian or Lara's mom lately?

Bring on the Flavor!

We just returned from our check up with Lily's pediatrician, Dr. Cunningham. She said, though Lily's teeth are only in the begining stages of cutting through, that Lily is ready to eat big people's food. I no longer need to make a separate meal for our little bug (though I was secretly enjoying this)-she can have whatever we are having! We started off this new, exciting stage of Lily's life with leek and potato soup. Yum!

Big week for Lily...

She went to the beach...twice. She got her own pair of hot shades. She learned how to point, wave, kiss and clap.

Lily's first Easter!

Grandma called and said that there was a Lakeshore Avenue bunny spotting. Sure enough, we opened our front door and Lily had a beautiful basket awaiting (full of the traditional-fresh organic carrots, kale, marzipan and Lily's own copy of Obama's Inaugural address)!

Lily goes to Tilden Park with Grandpa and Grandma!

It all started with a great big breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Lily was eyeing the bacon the entire morning. "Soon Lily, soon" we all assured her. We then went for a nice drive into the park and took rides on the merry-go-round and the steam trains. Lily didn't blink the entire trip! Given that she fell fast asleep on the drive home, with a sweet smile, we think she enjoyed herself immensely.

Lovely Little Lady

Lily is becoming such a wonderful little lady. She has fine, sweet wispy hair. She is pensive. She has beautiful rosey cheeks. She uses her fingers delicately. She is kind. She is graceful. She laughs. She sings. She has very round pink toes. She is observant. She kisses.

Lily goes to Monterey!

Brian was giving a talk at the Seismological Society of America annual meeting and we decided to make it a family trip! Brian's presentation went well and he wasn't too nervous talking slightly out of his element (he typically studies landslides, not earthquakes, but his talk was about earthquake-induced landslides - so it worked). Lara ate a couple of clam chowder bread bowls. They were delicious-not too potato-y (but they still don't compete with New England clam chowdah according to Brian). Lily touched star fish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They were wet and weird. And everyone was mesmerized by the jellyfish - wonderful times, all around.
Unfortunately, our camera battery died before we had a chance to take any good photos. But this one shows Lily's reaction to a piece of coral - hmmm.....

Our little Spring time bunny

Keeping watch for the bigger Spring bunny

We've got a future tea party thrower on our hands...
