How Butterflies Learn to Flutter

We came home one warm day and found that Lily's catepillars had finally turned into butterflies! Before we knew it, she had on her own wings and was offering her new friends words of advice ("flutter," "flap," and "faster") and sweet words of praise ("That's it! "You're doing it!""Yay!"). She is such a caring mama-bird (mama-fly?).

How Daddy Stays Fit

Lily is very much in the bandana-wearing phase of her life!

Round 2 (or was it 3 or 4?). Rappelling is awesome

Hmmmm, what's next?
We decided to spend Labor Day weekend in Yosemite. After watching climbers on El Cap through binoculars, Lily got the stoke. She rocked her first outdoor climb, "Bakesale." She was fearless, had wonderful technique and a gorgeous smile upon reaching the top. We are so unbelievably proud of her. More importantly, she said she is "willy" proud of herself!

Squaw Gipsy

If Miss Lily is not summering in Montana, she can be found in Squaw Valley. She  has been hiking/swimming/jumping annually there since the early age of two months. She is pretty proud that she has sled down (the bases of) slopes that her Papa learned to ski on as a boy.

Truckee River

With the Big Hole River under her belt, Lily decided to take on the Truckee. And she did it well.
