How Butterflies Learn to Flutter

We came home one warm day and found that Lily's catepillars had finally turned into butterflies! Before we knew it, she had on her own wings and was offering her new friends words of advice ("flutter," "flap," and "faster") and sweet words of praise ("That's it! "You're doing it!""Yay!"). She is such a caring mama-bird (mama-fly?).

Lily is very much in the bandana-wearing phase of her life!

Round 2 (or was it 3 or 4?). Rappelling is awesome

Hmmmm, what's next?
We decided to spend Labor Day weekend in Yosemite. After watching climbers on El Cap through binoculars, Lily got the stoke. She rocked her first outdoor climb, "Bakesale." She was fearless, had wonderful technique and a gorgeous smile upon reaching the top. We are so unbelievably proud of her. More importantly, she said she is "willy" proud of herself!
