Here Comes the Binky Fairy!

Miss Lily woke up Monday morning announcing that her teeth hurt and that she thinks the pain is from her pacifier use. As Lily put it, "my body is saying no, no, no, but my heart is saying more, more more." Even so, and completely on her own, she decided to stop using her "Paci." As with all of Lily's transitions, the process has been smart, sweet and simple. She has been Paci-free all week (only one night did she call me into her room asking for a Paci. Tired, I passed one to her and walked away. She immediately called me back to return the Paci-as she "just wanted two sucks.")

Here you see Lily with her new dolly, Lulu. Whenever Lily feels the need to pacify, she simply gives Lulu her pacifier. Done. Case closed.

We are so proud of you, Lily.

Collins Family Love Fest

We rented a cabin with Lily's cousins this past weekend. "Big kids" Erin, Zane and Joli were ridiculously sweet with Lily. They took her on sled rides, helped her up and down the ladder to the play room, taught her cool games, sat patiently next to her during every one of her treatments, and held her hand for every stroll. She went to sleep each night with a massive grin on her face. Lily hugged and kissed each of them about 47 times before we left to return to the Bay.

Real cups. Real food. Crossed ankles. Flower clips holding back whisps of fine hair. Gentle conversation. Beautiful smiles.
