Lily's new blankie

Our good friend Nini made Lily a beautiful warm and super soft new blanket. Lily rolled around in it for nearly an hour today. She was very happy.
Oh, when I say "naked," I mean with a diaper. At this point, it is still a little too risky to be naked naked.

Perhaps we should try to travel with less stuff?

Poor Lily.

More neighborly bonding

They really are quite sweet and tender with each other. Edim has some new (nearly six month) tricks that were rather impressive...(nearly five month) Lily seemed pretty woo'ed!

Do babies blink???

We have yet to see Lily do it (unless she sneezes or water trickles down her forehead). Should we be worried about her eyeballs getting dried out? I suppose everything is so new, exciting and stimulating to her...she doesn't want to miss out, even for a split second!

Lily's drool

So, apparently, bibs aren't enough these days...Lily juice now makes its way through bibs and then through the thick padding of her Baby Bjorn carrier. It is a little embarassing when we see our friends, Anna, Gordan and Julian who loaned us the carrier!

In this picture, Lily is singing to us. She does it a lot. It is a hoot.

Lily goes to Fremont!

Brian will be starting new field research, looking at landslides in Union City, Fremont and Castro Valley. He decided to get a head start this weekend and we decided to make it into a family trip. Though we joked about a family trip to Fremont, we ended up hiking in a gorgeous area called Garin Park. Who knew?

Lily's "Deer in Headlights" look

Brian showed Lily this look and explained to her that it is a fun look to have for your license photo. He also taught her that you can use this look at a surprise birthday party that you secretly know about. The key is to open your eyes as wide as possible and to flare your nostrils, of course. She's been working on it.

I suppose every hat Lily wears is our "favorite"

She just looks good in hats! Geez, there are some pensive people in my family!

Could she be any cuter???

Our swiming class was canceled today...Lily still had a blast in her suit anyways!

Lily is still sittin' cozy in the Bumbo chair!

All she needs is a latte and the newspaper. Shoot, did I put her shoes on backwards?

Lily's new favorite toy

Lily's new favorite hat (from her friend, Audrey)

It's a brilliant hat. It gives her great sun protection for her eyes and for the back of her neck! Hilary and I remember these hats were popular when we lived in Australia. Don't you just wanna rub her belly?

Lily became a member of the Oakland Zoo!

We saw lions, tigers and bears...oh my!

Lily and Edim Take a Swim Class!

We sang, we splashed, we blew bubbles, we got wrinkly and on the drive home, we got sleepy.

Election Day 2008

Lily is happy that her country got it right this time!

Lily's first Halloween!

Lily was even in a (rained out) parade! At this point, we think the Halloween celebration and costumes are more for the parents...Lily was a good sport however and was very tolerant of her silly hat.

Lily messes around with Daddy's face

You should have seen how pleased she was with herself!

Lily Sings!

Though Lily's (twice) daily albuterol treatments suck, she tries to make the most out of them. She is a fun spirited little squirt....with a very sweet voice!

Bigfoot

It was cold. We were in a hurry. We didn't have time to find the matching tiny person sock.
