Sitting Lily

With the help of a Bumbo chair, Lily sat upright this morning! This has been a pretty big week for her....no wonder she is sleeping soundly through the night!

Lily turned over!!!!

It happened so fast. She was on her tummy, had a look around, and then decided to look at the world from the other side... on her back! Mom and Dad witnessed all the action together... and that was that... from tummy to back! Sorry no pictures, it happened kind of quickly!

Lily Giggles!

Please ignore Mom's silly and rude lemonade slurping sounds....

Up close and personal with Lily

As you can see, she eventually wore herself out with all of these cute facial expressions!

Ms. Collins' beautiful quilts!

Just before Lily was due, I was given two beautiful quilts from my students. Pictured here is Lily getting cozy on a quilt made by three of my sweet seventh graders, Isabel, Elena and Breanna.

Cuddles

Good Morning Sunshine!

Lily is so fresh, alert and content in the morning. Brian and I do "rock, paper, scissors" to see who gets to pick Lily out of her crib to bring into our bed!

Lily and Audrey go to the Zoo!

But the mamas were so captivated by the animals that we forgot to take pictures of the kiddos until the car ride home....sorry girls! By the way, the Oakland Zoo is wonderful- the landscapes are gorgeous and the animals look very happy.

Father Daughter Bonding

Lily loves it. Dad loves it. Mamma loves watching it.

Lily and her books

Now that our Lilybug can support her head a little, we love sitting her in our laps and reading to her. She can last through four or five books! It's not that she becomes impatient after five books, but rather that's when her drool has pretty much saturated her outfit and she needs a changing.

Lily meets Katrina!

Our friend Katrina flew in from Boston to meet little Lily (well, and for a SF business meeting). Katrina introduced us to her good friends who just moved to the Bay Area with their little Makaela, who is just a day older than Lily. It was fun to compare notes (apparently both girls are in the drooling phase of their lives...). Lily felt like she already knew Katrina because she cuddles every night with a huge stuffed doggy that Katrina gave her before she was even born. Jay, Lily is looking forward to meeting you too!

Lily's new toy!

We just got Lily a baby rocker. Like the tub, she is not [yet] in love with it, but definately intrigued. We're pretty stoked because she has taken some super long naps in it already! I'm especailly excited because the swing can play a Tchaikovski piece that helps create the visions of sugar plums dancing in Lily's head...she might just be a ballet dancer yet!

This is why we couldn't leave the house until noon today....

She's just too darn cute in her pajamas!

More Rascal Shots

Gotta love that pacifier!

Bubbles

Though we have not introduced Lily to solid foods yet, she has a favorite fruit...the raspberry!

Driving Miss Daisy...I mean Miss Lily

Photo Title: Rascal in Stripes

One of Lily's favorite things to do

is to peek over her daddy's shoulder while
he strolls her around the house. Brian points out the books, the teddy bears, the different foods in the kitchen, the family pictures on the mantle, the trees through the windows....though she seems to be most intrigued by the blank walls. Anyways, Lily could do this for hours.

Lily Update

Lily can now pick up several of her toys. Whatever she picks up, she puts in her mouth of course. Just yesterday, she started to notice her feet....in this second picture, we think she is contemplating how much fun it would be to gnaw on a toe or two!
